Day 1: Arrival in Door Count & Eagle Bluff Lighthouse
Check-in: The Pointe Door County Airbnb
We started the weekend by checking into The Pointe Door County Airbnb, an A-frame cabin surrounded by nature. The warm and cozy interior, the big windows, and the quiet setting made it feel like the weekend officially started the moment we walked in. It was peaceful in that “you don’t need to do anything right now” kind of way.
Eagle Bluff Lighthouse
After settling in, we headed to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. The views over Green Bay are beautiful, especially during the sunset. It’s a simple stop, but it immediately feels like Door County.
Dinner: Wild Tomato Pizza
For dinner, we kept it casual at Wild Tomato Pizza. It was exactly what we wanted after a travel day – fresh, flavorful, and easy.

Day 2: Peninsula State Park, the Curvy Highway & cherry stops
Breakfast: Big Easy Bagel & Coffee
Saturday started at Big Easy Bagel & Coffee, close to our Airbnb. We loved these bagels. These were easily some of the best bagels we’ve had and it was the best way to start a full day out.
Peninsula State Park
Our first big stop was Peninsula State Park. Peninsula State Park is one of the top attractions in Door County and easily deserves half a day or more. Between scenic drives, overlooks, trails, and shoreline access, you can make it as active or as relaxed as you like.
Here are the highlights we focused on:
- Biking the Sunset Bike Trail (a scenic paved loop that’s great for all levels)
- Hiking to Eagle Bluff Overlook (big views over the bay)
- Stopping at Nicolet Bay (great for relaxing by the water, swimming, or a picnic)
- Driving Tower Road (one of the prettiest drives in the park)
- Climbing Eagle Tower (fully accessible, with panoramic views)
Door County Curvy Highway (WI-42)
After the park, we drove the Door County Curvy Highway (WI-42) near Northport. It’s a short stretch, but it’s famous for a reason. Sharp curves through a tunnel of trees, and one of those places that’s fun even if you’re only there for a few minutes.

Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market
On our way to Cave Point County Park, we decided to stop at Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market and absolutely loved it. Here, Door County cherries show up in just about everything: wine, jam, juice, and more. It’s an easy stop to browse and pick up a few local favorites.
Seaquist Orchards Farm Market
We also came across another cute farm market, Seaquist Orchards Farm Market. It is also known for cherry products and local pies. It felt very Door County simple, local, and charming.
Cave Point County Park
In the afternoon, we visited Cave Point County Park, and it was easily one of the most dramatic spots we saw all weekend. The wave-worn limestone cliffs and Lake Michigan views are the kind of scenery that makes you slow down and take your time, even on a busy day.
Whitefish Dunes State Park
A few minutes away is Whitefish Dunes State Park, which pairs perfectly with Cave Point. It gives you a different feel with dunes, beach access, and forest trails around. It was a nice contrast after the cliffs.
Dinner: Thyme Restaurant & Catering
We finished Saturday with dinner at Thyme Restaurant & Catering, and it ended up being one of the best meals of the weekend. Thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully done, exactly what we wanted after a full day outside.
Day 3: Sunrise, scenic bluffs & sweet goodbyes
Sunrise: Anclam Park (Bailey’s Harbor)
On our last day, we started early with sunrise at Anclam Park in Bailey’s Harbor. It was calm, quiet, and one of those moments that makes a trip feel more memorable.
Ellison Bluff State Natural Area
Later, we visited Ellison Bluff State Natural Area. The overlook views of Green Bay are stunning, and it felt removed from the busier tourist areas, more peaceful, more “just take it in.”
Bea’s Ho-Made Products (blueberry pie)
Before leaving Door County, we stopped at Bea’s Ho-Made Products and picked up what’s still the best blueberry pie we’ve ever had. The pies are sold frozen, so we brought one home and baked it later, and it was just as good as everyone says. We’d heard some really good reviews about this place and it definitely lived up to the hype.
Wood Orchard Market (apple cider donuts)
We ended with Wood Orchard Market for their famous warm apple cider donuts. Soft, comforting, and exactly the kind of treat you want before heading home.
After one last slow drive past orchards and open fields, we wrapped up the weekend feeling relaxed, well-fed, and already talking about when we’d come back.
